ARTIST BIO

Born in Greenfield Park, in the south shore of Montreal, Carolyne Brouillard is an emerging glass artist that works in the Montreal area. During her childhood, her parents introduced her to the world of arts and fine crafts. It is while visiting the Salon des métiers d’art du Québec that she became interested in glass. She studied art in college, to learn more about its history, techniques and to develop her creativity. Also, her love for water, made her join a swimming team for ten years, which introduced her to a passion for scuba diving, the source of her inspiration.

In 2006, Carolyne graduated from a three year glass program offered by the CEGEP du Vieux Montréal in collaboration with Espace Verre. In 2007, she registered her company Coraly Glass Design and subsequently became a member of the Conseil des Métiers d'Art du Québec (CMAQ), Glass Art Society (GAS) and Glass Art Association of Canada (GAAC). Also in 2007, she won the ''Jeune créateur'' Award at the first city of Longueuil's cultural gala. In 2008, she got a Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) bursary that allowed her to get glass tools and a showcase display. Her glass jewelry, decorative objects and sculptures can be found in many places around the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and New-Brunswick and B-C. In 2011, she plans to head south of the border to the US to open a new market. Wish her luck and spread the word!
